Andrew Schoneberger

Director / Cinematographer

Andrew Schoneberger is a director and cinematographer based in California. He co-directed the award-winning Red Bull documentary First In, Last Out (2025) and was director of photography and story editor for the Red Bull series Life of Kai seasons 3 and 4 (2023, 2024). He was the director of photography for the award-winning YETI documentaries  Let Me Live (2023), Beyond Sunset (2022) and the independent music documentary Everything for All Reasons (2019). He has directed films for Yeti, Red Bull, Chene, Red Wing and 805 Beer.
Andrew got his start in filmmaking as a still photographer, where he was working after finishing a studio art degree (traditional drawing and painting) at UCSB. As still cameras began adding video capability, he quickly jumped at the chance to add motion to his work, teaching himself to edit on his own. The ability to edit opened a lot of doors to bigger projects and films, and the chance to collaborate and learn from some great cinematographers. His directing and cinematography are still driven by an editor's perspective, and he still works on a handful of edits a year.
Andrew lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Meghan, daughters Sadie and Iris, and dog Charlie. At home, you’ll most likely find him with his daughters in the ocean or on a baseball field, cooking, or obsessively chasing par at the local muni.
